Athens is an identity management service based in the U.K. It's used by universities and other institutions in Europe to authenticate access to subscription resources. We do not use Athens or any authentication system that requires a password. We use IP authentication which is why you have to provide your Bronco ID and Library PIN/Password if connecting from off campus. (read more about Athens)
If you run into Athens or any other log in screen, try these options:
1. Search for the title of the journal in our Library Catalog. Use the TITLE search, not the KEYWORD search. If you find a record for the journal it will include a link to the journal website. From there you can navigate to the article you want. If you're off campus you'll have to provide your Bronco username & password before connecting the journal.
2. Search for the title of the journal in the Find E-Journals list. If we have a subscription you should find a link to the journal in that list. Connect to the journal website and navigate to the article you want. If you're off campus you'll have to provide your Bronco Bronco username & password before connecting the journal.
3. If we don't have a subscription to the journal, submit a Document Delivery request for the article.
On the Scholar Preferences screen go to the Library Links section, search for Cal Poly Pomona, check the check box, and be sure to click the Save Preferences button in the upper right corner.
Now when you search in Google Scholar a Find It Cal Poly Pomona link should appear with citations to articles in journals to which we have access.
