The Cal Poly Pomona Library does not acquire many conference proceedings. A few major collections of conference papers are available in the following databases:
- ACM Digital Library contains conference proceedings from that society as well as papers from the Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
- ASCE Library includes papers from ASCE conferences, from 2000 to the present.
- IEEE Xplore includes IEEE and IET conference proceedings.
If you need a conference paper from one of the societies listed above, go directly to the database and search or browse for the paper.
If you need other conference proceedings, try searching for the conference name in the Library Catalog. Do a basic keyword search using a few unique words from the conference name.
For example: if I'm looking for a paper from the Proceedings of the Symposium on Pavement Mechanics and Materials, Los Angeles, 2010, I might try the keywords: pavement mechanics symposium. This search will retrieve the proceedings for several years. I can then select the record for the 2010 symposium. In this case the proceedings are available in the ASCE Library. Once I connect to the proceedings in the ASCE Library I can navigate to the paper I need.
Finding conference proceedings can be very tricky so don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions -- options for contacting us are listed in the right hand column of this screen.
You can also submit a Document Delivery request for the paper. The Document Delivery staff can probably get a copy for you.
